The story of Rantoul Roundup:
It all started with a community concern and a locked-up computer. I've been on the board for the Rantoul Area Chamber of Commerce for since sometime in 2020 and the one thing that I'm constantly being told is "We don't know what's going on in our community now that the paper is gone." Our local paper isn't really gone it's just harder to get and full of advertising, but they had a point. Small Town America isn't usually the focus for big media companies anymore.......So, for a year I played around with the idea of a podcast that focused primarily on Rantoul events, activities, ongoing community programs, and social positivity. If we have all these programs and activities, how can we as a community support the people behind these things.... and so Curly Girl Productions and the Rantoul Round up was born. The goal is to have a weekly sometimes bi-weekly podcast that showcases all the amazing things Rantoul has to offer. As it grows, we will be adding a business spotlight and some village history, and more events and activites. I appreciate you taking a look at my labor of love and thank you for following my journey!
